Stacey Delikat is an Emmy-award winning journalist, and the granddaughter of two Holocaust survivors. Both her paternal grandparents, Pearl and Otto Delikat, survived Auschwitz, and saw many of their own family members sent to their death.
Stacey will share the story of Otto, born in Vienna in 1922. He was one of the longest-surviving prisoners of the Nazis, and was shipped to five different concentration camps over the course of more than four years. Pearl, born in 1924 in Romania, survived Auschwitz, and ultimately escaped death after fleeing a transport with her sisters and finding shelter with a good samaritan. Both credit luck for their survival.
