Final Account is an urgent portrait of the last living generation of everyday people to participate in Adolf Hitler’s Third Reich. Over a decade in the making, the film raises vital, timely questions about authority, conformity, complicity and perpetration, national identity, and responsibility. Men and women ranging from former SS members to civilians in never-before-seen interviews reckon—in very different ways—with their memories, perceptions, and appraisals of their own roles in the greatest human crimes in history.
3GNY Board Member and WEDU Co-Chair Elizabeth Kamens will join a panel conversation after the film to discuss the impact of this raw and powerful film. Tickets are free, but must be reserved in advance. Proof of COVID vaccination is required, and masks are required at all times.
Presented in partnership with Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan, Focus Features, and Participant.
