Confronting and Undoing Racism With Care; Workshop Led by Yehudah Webster; Passionate Jewish Activist Fighting For Racial & Social Justice

Over the summer, 3GDC and 3GNY came together by holding two workshops addressing how to show up and uphold the Jewish values of justice/fairness and loving kindness toward others. Continuing our organizations’ collaborative efforts, we present another opportunity to show up, with special guest facilitator, Yehudah Webster. As a Jew of color, Yehudah will work within a Jewish framework to lead us through an interactive, discovery-based workshop that calls upon self-care and human empathy to combat racism.

About Yehudah Webster: Yehudah Webster is passionate about ensuring the Jewish community’s commitment to fighting for racial justice and collective liberation. As a community organizer for Jews for Racial & Economic Justice (JFREJ), Yehudah supports JFREJ’s police accountability and transformative justice campaigns through efforts that include lobbying for legislative reform. He has presented in a wide variety of settings and has established a national support network for Jews of Color through his JFREJ leadership. Most recently, Yehudah co-founded Ammud: The Jews of Color Torah Academy where he helps Jews of all "stripes" chant Torah and prepare for their bar/bat mitzvahs. Yehudah is a graduate of JFREJ’s Grace Paley Organizing Fellowship and Bend the Arc’s Selah Leadership Program.

The Jewish Week Media Group called Yehuda a Jewish Superhero for Racial and Social Justice on their 36 under 36 millennials pushing change through compassion list. Read more about Yehudah here.
