Join us on Wednesday, November 11th at the Jewish Community Center of Syracuse or virtually on Zoom for 3GNY’s hybrid WEDU Wednesday as Leah Goldberg shares the story of her grandmother, Susy Taubner.
For those in the Syracuse area, join us for a reception with Leah at 6:30 PM prior to the program beginning at 7:00. For those unable to join in-person, we look forward to seeing you on Zoom at 7:00 PM!
About Susy Taubner:
Susy Taubner was born in Budapest, Hungary, and was forced to move to the Budapest ghetto when the Nazis arrived in November 1944. She was able to survive the horrors of multiple concentration camps and the infamous Helmbrechts Death March, with her older sister by her side, barely staying alive. Somehow, Susy’s story of antisemitism, horror, and hate became a beautiful, forever-love story.
About Leah Goldberg:
Leah Goldberg grew up in Omaha, Nebraska, and moved to Syracuse in June 2013. Since moving to Syracuse, Leah has been very involved with the Jewish community. She currently sits on the Jewish Federation board, serves as chair of the Strategic Planning Committee, and is a member of the National Leadership Cabinet. She is currently the Chair of the Syracuse Hebrew Day School Development Committee and actively volunteers for 3GNY, speaking at schools about her grandmother, who was a Holocaust survivor. Leah and her husband, Seth, are proud parents of four very active boys: Abe (12), Harry (10), Jack (8), and Saul (6).
