Europe on the Brink: The Current Rise in Anti-Semitism Wednesday, August 20, 2014, 6:30 - 8:30 pm AJC Offices, 165 E. 56th Street (btwn Lexington and 3rd aves) New York, NY
Jewish communities throughout Europe are increasingly threatened. Physical attacks against Jews and Jewish institutions are on the rise. Anti-Semitic discourse has been mainstreamed as never before, and Jews are fleeing in record numbers.
We explored these disturbing trends, with a focus on how Israel has been used to stoke this bigotry not just in Europe, but worldwide.
Ellisa Sagor, AJC's Director of Marketing and Strategic Communications briefed us on the situation and led a Q&A.

In a recent NY Times op-ed, Deborah E. Lipstadt's discusses many of the situations and examples shared by Ellisa during her briefing. "Why Jews Are Worried" explores the concerns for today's Jews in Europe. As Dr. Lipstadt states, "This is not another Holocaust, but it's bad enough."
